Privacy Policy

Liffer is built around the idea that you shouldn't have to give up your data to access offline reference content. This policy explains exactly what we collect, what we don't, and what your options are.

The short version

• There are no accounts. Nothing to sign up for, no email to hand over. The app works fully offline.
• Your bookmarks, reading history, and AI questions stay on your device.
• We collect optional, anonymous usage statistics - you can turn them off with one switch.
• Purchases are processed by Apple, Google, or Stripe. We never see your payment details.
• We don't use third-party analytics SDKs or advertising trackers, and we will never sell your data.

Data we collect

Your content and activity

Stored only on your device. Bookmarks, reading history, downloaded content packs, settings, and everything you ask the AI assistant live in a local database on your phone. None of it is uploaded anywhere.

Anonymous usage statistics (optional)

The app sends minimal, anonymous event counts - for example, how many times a screen was opened or that a content pack was downloaded. These events contain no personal identifiers, no device IDs, no IP-based profiles, and cannot be linked to a specific person. They help us see which features get used and where the app is breaking. You can turn this off any time in Settings → Privacy → Anonymous Analytics - when disabled, nothing is sent at all.

Purchases

The optional Liffer Pro unlock is a one-time purchase. In the app it is processed by Apple through your Apple ID, or by Google through your Google account. We receive no payment information - no card numbers, no billing address, no account details. The record that you own Pro is kept by the store and mirrored on your device.

If you buy Liffer Pro on our website instead, payment is processed by Stripe, and we store the email address you paid with alongside a record of that purchase. We keep it for one reason: it lets you restore Pro on a new device by requesting a one-time code by email, without needing an account. Ask us and we will delete it.

The on-device AI assistant

If you choose to download the optional AI assistant, it runs entirely on your phone using a local language model. Your questions and the AI's answers are never transmitted to our servers or any third party.

Location

The app does not request or use your location. Ever.

Where data is stored

Almost everything lives on your device. The only things that reach our servers are the anonymous event stream described above (if you leave analytics on) and, for website purchases, the buyer's email address and purchase record. Both are stored on infrastructure we operate in the European Union. All connections use HTTPS with TLS 1.2 or higher.

Sharing with third parties

We do not share, sell, or rent your data to anyone. Period.

The third parties involved are Apple and Google (payment processing for in-app purchases), Stripe (payment processing for website purchases), RevenueCat (which confirms to the app that a store purchase is valid), Brevo (which delivers the restore emails described above), and our hosting provider (which serves content-pack downloads and receives the anonymous analytics events on our behalf). Each one only receives what it needs to do that job.

How to delete your data

Delete the app from your device - that removes your bookmarks, history, AI conversations, downloaded packs and settings, because all of it is on your device. The anonymous analytics events we hold cannot be linked back to you, so there is nothing there to delete.

If you bought Liffer Pro on our website, email vaidotas@holdmylemonade.com and we will delete the email address and purchase record we hold for you. Note that deleting it also removes your ability to restore Pro by email on a future device, so keep your unlock code if you still want that.

Children

The app is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because of its medical reference content and its AI assistant, Liffer is rated 17+ on the App Store and targeted at adults on Google Play.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
